Pruning Sealer

In our continuing effort to recommend and make available the best products that make hibiscus growing more easily and successfully, we have recently added a new easy-to-use, spray-on Pruning Sealer.

Hibiscus need to be pruned from time to time. Pruning Sealer protects the pruned hibiscus from developing diseases that start in the pruning cut. We've noticed over the years that we can prune during the hot and dry times without any problems with fungal disease, but once the cooler and wetter weather arrives in fall there is a significant danger that the pruning cuts will develop fungal disease, and whole branches or even entire plants of hibiscus will develop a rotting disease. This can be prevented by sealing the wound as soon as the pruning cut is made. Pruning Sealer is a convenient aerosol spray that makes for fast and easy sealing of pruning cuts. Unlike most tree wound sealing products, there's no need to use both hands to paint on the tree sealant with a brush. Just point the can and push the spray button! If you live in an area that gets a lot of rain throughout the year, you may want to use this product all year round. Better safe than sorry!

This Pruning Sealer can also be used to waterproof planting pots and boxes.
