'Joy' blooms with a 6-8" pink and blue single. It is a sweet, simple, and joyous flower named after a very special young girl named Joy, who was born January 13, 1978, fought cancer for many years, and went to live with the angels on August 14th, 2008. Her hibiscus will be released from HVH in 2010.

"Joy was the sweetest, most innnocent, most 'drive you crazy' person you could ever meet. The cards were stacked against her, pretty much her whole life, but she had such a young heart, you couldn't help but smile when you met her. When our hibiscus 'Joy' first bloomed, the flower was a very pale blue with the barest pink edge, soft and fragile as was the human Joy in her life here. As the hibiscus plant has matured, the colors have deepened, and the flowers have become increasingly vivid, and yes, joyful, on a beautiful, upright, strong bush. Perhaps these flowers parallel a new life full of growing health and happiness that our special human Joy may now be living in a far away place.
