The beautiful 7-9" flower of 'Confection Perfection' surprised us with its yummy colors when it first bloomed. 'Confection Perfection' is the offspring of two intense orange and red varieties - 'Saffron' and 'Heavy Metal.' Instead of the darker colors, 'Confection Perfection' inherited the excellent form and size of its parents' flowers, and the durability that makes this flower last for 3 days. The "good enough to eat" colors suggested fine candy to us, so this new variety was named 'Confection Perfection.' Rarely does nature confer both a beautiful flower and a beautiful bush onto one variety but that was the case this time. Pretty foliage and excellent upright growth habit complete the package. 'Confection Perfection' is expected to grow to 3-4 feet in a pot and 4-6 feet in the ground over several years. Released from HVH in 2010.
