HVH Acid-Blend Hibiscus Fertilizer

The HVH Acid-Blend Fertilizer is a specially-designed formula for hibiscus growing in places where water is mildly-moderately alkaline or has a high pH. This fertilizer has all the ingredients that our regular HVH Special-Blend Fertilizer has, plus the extra acidifying properties that many of our fellow hibiscus growers need to correct water problems. This acidifying formula will help stubbornly pale or yellowish hibiscus plants absorb more nutrients, build more chlorophyll, turning leaves a deeper, darker green.

For people with very mildly elevated alkalinity (just over 100 ppm), use the HVH Acid-Blend Fertilizer once or twice a month, or roughly every other time you fertilize. For higher alkalinity levels, use the HVH Acid-Blend Fertilizer every time you fertilize.

We offer the fertilizer in several popular sizes. A 1.5-lb container should take care of 2-4 tropical hibiscus (5-6 in 8-10" pots) for a year or longer. A 3-lb container will care for 4-8 hibiscus for a year. If you have more hibiscus, we also have a 10-lb size bag, and a 25-lb bag.

What is in the HVH Special-Blend Fertilizer?

• Nitrate nitrogen for sustained, vigorous growth in all growing conditions
   
• Low but adequate amount of phosphorus to stimulate root development while preventing phosphorus build-up problems
   
• High level of potassium for stronger branches, increased blooming, larger and more intensely colored flowers
   
• All minor minerals in ideal proportions and in chelated form for better absorption
   
• Ample iron to prevent iron deficiency chlorosis
   
• Non-staining blue dye for safety

Directions for Use

Mix fertilizer at the following rates into lukewarm water. Stir to thoroughly dissolve. Water plants well.

• 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water for use with every watering
• 1 teaspoon per gallon of water for once-a-week use
• 2 teaspoons per gallon of water for use 1-2 times per month
